No More Ponies

Wed Nov 4, 2009, 8:58 PM
I just realized something yesterday. I don't want to make any more custom My Little Ponies. I don't know if I just lost interest or what. I've had these two baits sitting in a tin container for, like, ever, and I don't know what I want to do with them. I've never felt like I was very creative with them. All I ever did was make anime characters. Plus zillions of people make them and come up with zillions of ideas. There's really nothing new under the sun when it comes to these things. It sort of turned me off.

I have several made already, most of which are sitting in storage because they're old and I'm not super proud of them--and I have no display room. Then on top of it I don't collect My Little Ponies, so I don't know why I keep making these things just to make them sit and collect dust. I know I could sell them or do commissions or whatever, but I don't feel comfortable doing that. I've done a few commissions, but in the end I didn't like doing it. And I don't feel like my skills are up to the standard I want to them be to sell them. It's one thing to practice drawing in a sketchbook, but it's another thing to make junk in 3-D and feel bad throwing it in the trash later (I've already given a few to Goodwill because they were a disaster).

So... I guess I'll be sticking with dolls from now on.

Thanks sooo much for the :+devwatch:. Hope to make the watch worthwhile as I continue making goddesses and sculpting original figures.

You a Bell-chan lover? :giggle:

You're very welcome!

It's strange, really, because I didn't used to like Belldandy--or at least not in the more recent manga. Then somehow she started growing on me. Now I really like her.
